PERRYVILLE -- The Sikeston junior varsity football team ended their season on a high note Saturday morning, defeating the Perryville Pirates 37-20.

The Bulldogs did all their scoring in the first half, taking a 37-6 lead in at the half. Sikeston got on the board first when Dale Winters ran in from one yard out and after the kick the Bulldogs led 7-0.

Perryville returned the ensuing kickoff back for a touchdown and missed the extra point, cutting the Sikeston lead to 7-6 but that's as close as they would get. A 14-yard pass from Sam Erwin to CJ Council put Sikeston ahead 13-6 going into the second quarter where the floodgates opened for the Bulldogs.

Darryl Howard and Dale Winters scored on runs of 12 and 7-yards respectively to make the score 25-6. Then quarterback Tanner Bryant found Janiel Hatchett on a 3-yard pass and later found Jordan Williams in the end zone to make the score 37-6.

Perryville added two more scores in the second half but Sikeston had already securely sealed the game. The Bulldogs finished their season at 4-4.
