Johnny Watkins Sr.
SIKESTON -- Johnny Louis Watkins Sr., 67, died at 3:30 a.m. Sept. 27, 2007, at his home.
Born April 11, 1940, in Burdette, Ark., to the late Oscar William and Lillie Irean Bowers Watkins, he was a self-employed farmer and a member of Morley Church of God.
On June 16, 1961, in Bell City, he married Montene Lockhart, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Louis and Lisa Watkins of Oran; two daughters and one son-in-law Debra Sue (Watkins) and Topper Buell of Oran and Amanda Jean Watkins of Sikeston; two brothers, Donald Earl Watkins and Oscar Junior Watkins of Oran; one sister, Pamela Ann Wefenstette of Oran; and four grandchildren, Leroy Buell III, Chase Jordan Watkins, Tina Leann Buell and Lacee Dean Watkins, all of Oran.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Larry Jackson, pastor of Morley Church of God, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
