Josephine Kirkpatrick

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - Josephine Smithson Kirkpatrick, 82, formerly of East Prairie, died July 17, 2005, at her residence.

Born March 6, 1922, in East Prairie, to the late Luther and Audie Ann Clapp Smithson, she had lived in Rancho Mirage for over 50 years.

She was married to Phillip Kirkpatrick, who preceded her in death Sept. 11, 2004.

Also preceding her in death were; two sisters, Lueannie Flowers and Creasy Hunt; and three brothers, Buster, Colie and Raymond Smithson.

She is survived by: one brother, Bill Smithson of East Prairie; and one sister, Allegra Lindberg of Heron Lake, Minn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from noon Sunday until time for services at 3:30 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery with Steven Domingue officiating.
