AARP teams with Express Personnel

Saturday, June 18, 2005

SIKESTON - Express Personnel Services of Sikeston has affiliated with AARP as a Featured Employer, joining a select group of 11 other national employers, including companies in the retail, healthcare, staffing, financial and business services sectors.

AARP Featured Employers are companies that have demonstrated a sincere interest in recruiting and retaining mature workers and have gone though an application and vetting process. AARP will share its knowledge and research with Express so the staffing firm can learn how to better assist area business in the recruitment and retention of more workers according to Karen Lance.

"Today's work force is more diverse than ever, AARP and Express are dedicated to the recruitment and retention of mature workers in particular," Lance said. "Mature workers bring stability, loyalty and wisdom to today's workplace and Express recognizes their desire to continue working in some capacity well into the future."

In the coming years, the work force will shrink as many Baby Boomers retire, leaving a gap the younger, smaller generations will be unable to fill. To lessen the impact of the approaching labor shortfall, employers need to recognize the strengths of mature workers and increase efforts to recruit and retain this population.

This affiliation will help AARP as a resource for mature job seekers and Express as a company to help mature workers find employment opportunities.

The Sikeston office, located at 1053 E. Malone, is currently accepting applications. For more information, stop by the office or call (573) 471-1680
