PUXICO - Rebecca Stroup, 79, died July 24, 2006, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born April 18, 1927, in Wardell, daughter of the late Qulin and Dollie Thomas Canoy, she had lived most of her life in the Kinder and Puxico area. She was a member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle in Sturdivant and had worked until her retirement at the Inland Shoe Factory in Advance.

On Oct. 6, 1944, in Parma, she married Calvin Stroup, who preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 2003.

One son, one brother and one sister also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: three sons, Bill Stroup of Dexter, Ray Stroup of Puxico and Lee Stroup of LaPlace, La.; one brother, Jerry Canoy of Zalma; one sister, Nancy Canoy of Puxico; and 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Dale Holman of Arab and the Rev. Donnie Fowler of Neeleyville will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Fagan Cemetery near Puxico.
