I see where the NAACP is screaming racism again over a black kid in California being charged with murder when a robbery he and his friends planned went bad. That's the law folks. If he was working for a payday instead of terrorizing and robbing people he would not be charged with anything. The NAACP wants the home owner charged with a crime for shooting the intruders. If your life is threatened, you have every right in the world to defend yourself and your property. Yes, you have the legal right to kill that person. In fact, it is recommended by some law officials that you shoot for the upper torso or head area and continue to shoot until you are sure the threat no longer exists. Also, it is legal to drink and take your medication while you are at home. This will have no effect on the rights of that person defending himself. If it was a black man protecting his life and property against white intruders, the NAACP would be on the exact opposite side.They are the racists.

Perks of the job

I work at a hotel in Charleston. I was just given a proposition and offered $50. I was just wondering when did the standards drop so low that people can just walk up to you and offer you money to have sex with them? Do people not have any kind of raising or couth? The man had the nerve to tell me it was the perks of the job. The perk of my job is to have a paycheck. The perk of my job would be to have a raise that went with what I do, not to have sex with random people that stay here.

This is to the staff of the North Ridge Veterinary Clinic. I just wanted to say thanks very much for all the good care you've given my animals. I recently had one put down. There's a red-headed girl that works at the reception desk, that girl acted like the dog belonged to her. She grieved with me, she offered that if there was anything she could do for me to let her know. They were very kind and very caring toward me. I really want to let them know I appreciate them. I have been to many different veterinary clinics in my life, but North Ridge has been the best by far. They've always treated my animals with kindness and respect and been very gentle with them. Their staff is amazing. The receptionist is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I hope to God they don't lose her.

I agree with the caller that said the little mayor couldn't run the country. Mr. Jensen, there's a lot of difference. He needs to stick to his little town, he can't run the big USA.

Did New Madrid County R-1 have a Open House and invite the taxpayers to see the newly remodeled school? If they did, I missed it. And if they didn't, I'd like to suggest they have one.

Open House was conducted at the beginning of the school year. Notification was published several times in the calendar of events section of the Standard Democrat.

I recently resigned from a training program at a local office. I hope the staff will remember this day when they are 82. You may now know everything, but nothing stays the same in this world or your future.
