SIKESTON -- The December employee of the month at Sikeston Health Care is Brandy Thornton.

Thornton, a licensed practical nurse, graduated from L.P.N. school in 2006 and has been employed at Sikeston Health Care since August.

Thornton enjoys spending quality time with her two daughters, bowling, dancing and mentoring the youth at her church. She believes that nursing is not a job, it is a spiritual calling and a smile, compassion and kindness can go a long way with the residents.

SIKESTON -- Cord Polen, Chief Executive Officer, announced the addition of Lori Fowler as director of risk assessment for Alliance Bank headquartered in Cape Girardeau. Fowler will oversee the bank's internal audit and compliance functions and review credit quality of borrowers. She brings 18 years experience in banking with her last position as senior commercial lender at U. S. Bank (formerly Firstar Bank - Mercantile Bank -- AmeriFirst Bank). Fowler served in many executive positions, including management, commercial and consumer lending, retail investment, marketing, and staff training. Most recently, Fowler was owner/broker for Area Properties Real Estate in Sikeston, a full service real estate company. Her husband, Tom, will continue ownership of Area Properties.

Fowler holds an MBA from William Woods University, a bachelors degree in business administration with a major in finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and is a graduate of LSU Graduate School of Banking. Polen offered, "Lori's vast expertise in banking was just what we were looking for. Her knowledge of the loan process and real estate will be an outstanding asset for us."

Fowler is located at the corporate office, 217 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.

BENTON -- Kasey Mathes-Klughart, a district representative with Modern Woodmen of America, is the membership leader in the Missouri East Agency for November.

Also in November, she attained the Fraternal Insurance Counselor (FIC) designation.

The FIC title is an educational designation that can be earned by career life insurance representatives associated with fraternal insurance societies. Representatives devote more than one year to meet the examination and career development criteria set by the Fraternal Field Managers Association.
