PUXICO - Billy Joe Richard, 68, died Sept. 23, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 16, 1937, in Stoddard County, son of the late John W. and Eva Duren Richard, he had been a resident of the Puxico area all his life and owned Bills Market there with his wife, Judy. He also formerly owned Richards service station and other markets in the Puxico area. He was a member of the Puxico Masonic Lodge 596 AF&AM and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include: his wife, Judy Richard of Puxico; two sons and daughters-

in-law, David and Laura Richard of Ballwin and Danny and Janice Richard of Fenton; one step-son and his wife, Randy and Jodie Williams of Arnold; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jerry and Carole Richard of Wappapello and Gary Richard of Poplar Bluff; his mother-in-law, Genevia Langston of Puxico; a special brother, Fred Utley of Licking; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: twins, John L. Richard and Clide Richard and Arvel Dean Richard.

Services were held today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. John Buttry of Puxico officiated.

Burial followed at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Puxico.
