Verlean Pippins

BERNIE -- Verlean Marie Pippins, 76, died Sept. 24, 2006, in the Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter.

Born June 29, 1930, at Bernie, daughter of the late Jessie Henry and Ollie Moring Craft, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist belief.

On May 22, 1952, at Piggott, Ark., she married Arthur Alta Pippins who preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1996.

Three sons, Gary Michael Boyt, Randall Evan Pippins and Jeffrey Lynn Pippins; and two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Gregory Alan Pippins Sr. of Dexter and Steven Kirk Pippins of Bentonville, Ark.; one stepson, Phillip Arthur Pippins of Arnold; two daughters, Lisa Susanne Carlson of Harvel and Linda Michelle Aguilar of the state of California; two stepdaughters, Bonnie June Mitchem of Ironwood, Mich., and Barbara Jean Lamar of Malden; one sister, Frances Turnbow of Poplar Bluff; and 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Ivan Mekan will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
