I'd like to thank the couple who found my dog on Plantation Drive at 8:30 on a Sunday night. And assuming she would get ran over, they took her in their home and kept her overnight in a warm, very nice place. The couple, their names are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Turner. I was so upset about my little shitzu. I thought I would never see her again because she's a house dog. But thanks to these humane people - and thank God there still are humane people in the world - I still have my dog. Thank you.

I'm calling about the shooting in Cape Girardeau involving the D.O.C. officer. What a tragedy. What was the man to do? There was not a center mass shot. This young man knew he violated his parole. As a veteran, you only have a split second. Again, this is not a center mass or was it a kill shot. This young man was not an upstanding citizen, but a parole violator. Now we are prosecuting a person trying to do his job?

Can you tell me if Sikeston has any personal trainers? If so, can they leave their name and/or number in the paper.

I guess everybody has read the paper or seen the news. Now if you're a police officer or a Department of Corrections officer, I guess you can get away with murder. You can shoot an unarmed man in the back and kill him and all you get is involuntary manslaughter. Wonder if anybody else has realized the Cape Girardeau prosecutor charged him with the least amount of crime that he could to make sure the community didn't go berserk. Just wait and see when he goes to court. They'll plead it down to a misdemeanor and he'll still be carrying a gun working for somebody. So you better look out if you see him 'cause you're liable to get shot in the back.

I called in the week of Feb. 18 about the price of fuel and gas when the oil refinery blew up down in Texas and the price of oil went up to over $100 a gallon, knowing the price of gas would go up 20 to 50 cents a gallon. Today the price of oil dropped this week. Do you think the price of gas will drop on the market? No. The oil companies have a monopoly and they are going to charge us as much as they can. They have a record profit for the last two quarters. Something needs to be done.

I've been with my husband for two years now. He has three children, one we are not quite sure if she is his because she slept around a lot, and two with another girl. His parents have nothing to do with the other two. I just don't understand how you can look in the mirror at yourself and say you are a good person, when you are worthless and sorry to disown your child. What has the world come to? What happened to family? My brother has a saying, "Bro's before hos." I think my husband's family needs to learn that it's family before hos. It's really sad, especially when his daddy thinks he's a pillar of the community. He should sweep around his own back door. He should really pull the knife out of his back. My husband's heart is breaking and I don't know what to do to fix it.

This is on the complaining about the speeding on North Ingram. We've been calling it the Ingram 500. My father-in-law was down from St. Louis this weekend. He brought his radar gun along - he's a retired St. Louis police officer. We've been clocking cars from anywhere from 60 to 75 miles per hour. The speed limit is 35. I've lived here for seven years. I've never seen anybody do the speed limit. I wish they would get some more radar going on our road because we really need it.
