Sikeston Bulls are introducing 'Host-A-Bull'

Wednesday, May 3, 2006

SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Bulls Baseball Club is currently searching for businesses and families in the Sikeston area to play a vital role in the success of the Bulls this summer.

The Bulls are looking for families that have an extra room to host one or more of their players.

The Bulls' players are student-athletes from colleges and universities all over the country. They are all fine upstanding young men that need a place to stay while they play baseball for your Sikeston Bulls. The Bulls will give each host family complimentary season tickets for 2006 season as well as several other host family only perks.

This is a great opportunity to partner with the Sikeston Bulls and truly make VFW Memorial Stadium the most affordable family entertainment in Southeast Missouri and the best baseball south of St. Louis.

The Bulls also need to place their players with employers around the area for summer employment. Most of the Bulls' players need to work this summer as well as play baseball for the Bulls.

The type of work varies greatly. Any area business or individual that has a need for a 19-23 year old young man to work this summer fits our mold for job placement. The only requirement is that you be flexible with their baseball schedule.

Everyone who signs up to be involved in our job placement program will receive two 12-voucher ticket books for the 2006 season. Businesses can also partner with the Bulls by taking advantage of their many unique sponsorship opportunities.

The Sikeston Bulls Baseball Club is the collegiate wood-bat KIT League Team that calls Sikeston home. They play all of their home games at VFW Memorial Stadium in the heart of Sikeston. The team will begin their season with an exhibition game on Tuesday, May 30 against the Riverdogs from Charleston at 7:05pm.

KIT League play opens in Sikeston on Thursday, June 1 at 7:05 p.m. when intrastate rival and defending KIT League Champion, Farmington Firebirds come to town.
