Kline signs with Lindenwood University

BENTON -- Rachel Kline, 2005 Kelly High School graduate, has signed to play softball at Lindenwood University in St. Charles.

Kline was a member of the Kelly softball squad that won the Class 2 state championship in October, 2004.

A four-year letter winner for the Kelly Lady Hawks, Kline earned all-

conference, all-district and all-region honors as an outfielder. She was also voted to the all-state second team.

Playing center and left field, Kline led the Lady Hawks with a .412 on-base percentage and most walks. She batted .300 with 10 RBIs and 17 stolen bases.

An all-round athlete, Kline was a four-year letter winner in basketball and a three-year letter winner in track and field.

Her track career included two Class 2 state appearances in the high jump. She placed 10th as a junior and 12th in her senior season.

Kline was also an all-conference and all-district performer in track and field. An honor roll student, Kline received Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Awards in softball during all four of her years on the team, was named to Who's Who Among American High School Students and received the All-

American Scholar Athlete Award.

Kline will join the Lady Lions of Lindenwood, a four-year liberal arts education institution, for the Spring season.

Lindenwood's softball program, under the direction of head coach Don Loberg, participates in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
