Thelma Crabtree

ELLSINORE - Thelma I. Crabtree, 87, died Oct. 6, 2007, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born March 16, 1920, at Bernie, to the late Everett and Minnie Kelly Boone, she moved to St. Louis with her husband in 1961. In 1972, she moved to Dexter and then to Ellsinore. She was a member of the Southwest Church of the Nazarene in Dexter and a retired seamstress from Elder Manufacturing.

On March 4, 1961, at Bernie, she married Alvie O. Crabtree, who preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2003.

Also preceding her in death were: one brother, Bill Nunn; three sisters, Mable McGowan, Louise Barnes and Joyce Massengill; and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include: one son, Keith Crabtree of Florissant; three daughters, Doris Noble of Fremont, Charlotte Newman of Ellsinore and Diane Hamilton of Williamtown; one sister, Pansy McGowan of Dexter; and 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Gene Riddle of Poplar Bluff will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
