WYATT - Edward Hedgeman "Ed" Todd, 88, formerly of Bardwell, Ky., died at 11:34 a.m. March 9, 2006, at his home in Wyatt.

Born Jan. 10, 1918, in Bardwell, son of the late Willie and Willie Hogancamp Todd, he had lived most of his life in Carlisle County, Ky., where he was engaged in farming. He moved to Wyatt in 1968. A veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II, he was of the Baptist belief.

In 1968, he married Mary Allene Brown who survives of the home in Wyatt.

Also surviving are: two stepdaughters and their spouses, Margaret E. and James Allen Sams of West Chicago, Ill., and Ovaline and Glenn Edward Davis of Wyatt; two brothers, Graves Todd and Bill Todd of Bardwell; four sisters, Elizabeth Crook, Pat Owsley, Marilyn Polivick and Jane Webb of Bardwell; four grandchildren, Cindy Hamby and Darryl Sams of West Chicago, Ill., Carolyn Davis of Wyatt and Karen Davidson of Sikeston; five great-grandchildren, Susanne Thielking, Stacey Sams and Derek Sams of West Chicago and Erin Staples and Caleb Davison of Sikeston; and one great-great-grandson, Wyatt Staples Merideth of Sikeston.

One brother, Millard Todd, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Harold Norton, director of the Senior Adult Ministries at the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, and the Rev. Jesse Hargrove, pastor of the Beech Grove Baptist Church in Bardwell, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston with military rites provided by the Missouri Military Honors Program.

Pallbearers will be Carey Webb, David Polivick, Dewayne Polivick, Mike Todd, Darin Dodge and Ricky Bugg.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Todd, Elott Raffety, Carl Stricker and Donnie Sams.
