Castor Alsup
SIKESTON - Castor R. Alsup, 81, died Dec. 17, 2005, at his home.
Born July 6, 1924, in Sikeston, the son of the late R.M. Alsup and Ruth Amanda Dollar Alsup, Castor was a member of Miner Baptist Church and had been a deacon at the First Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was a farmer and was also active in Real Estate before retiring.
He is survived by his bride of 61 years, Mary Louise Jones Alsup of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Glenn "Skip" Alsup of Wellington and Steve Alsup and his wife, Nancy, of Elkland; two daughters, Rosemary Overbey and husband, Dennis, of Poplar Bluff and Alberta Crow and husband, Steve, of Heber Springs, Ark.; nine grandchildren, James Alsup and wife, Mary, of Portageville, Amanda Lewis and husband, Mark, and Shannon Overbey of Sikeston, Matthew Alsup and wife, Tangela, and Kimberly Street and husband, Tony, of Springfield, Kenny Alsup of Vienna, W.Va., D.J. Overbey and wife, Tricia, of Poplar Bluff, Courtney Bertrand and husband, Brock, of Fayetteville, Ark., Jan Crow and wife, Angelina, of Jonesboro, Ark.; nine great-
grandchildren; and children who made their home with Castor and Mary, Vickie Watling, Ann Crowley and Lorraine Archer.
Preceding him in death are his parents, one infant daughter, Pamela Louise Alsup, three brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Miner Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mitch Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be: Craig Hahs, Mike Marsh, Alan McClellan, Randy Brookman, Ron Baker, Michael Baker and Phil Butler.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Eloise Marsh, William and Jerri Hahs, Colleen Turner, Homer and Rosemary Trigg, Anna Butler, Bill and Betty Taylor, Wendy Blackman, Dorothy Johnson and Frances and DeWavon Adams.
