CHARLESTON - Eathel Holmes Scheffer, 95, died at 8:55 a.m. July 11, 2007, at the Charleston Manor.

Born July 22, 1911, in Morehouse, to the late Mart and Susie Roach Holmes Null, she had lived most of her life in Charleston. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church where she was a member of the Legion of Mary and Daughters of Isabella.

On Jan. 5, 1932, she married Frank H. Scheffer Sr. who preceded her in death on April 4, 1985.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, Henry Lawrence Scheffer and Frank H. Scheffer Jr.; one daughter and son-in-law, Rosella "Rosie" and Jimmie "Jim" Chandler; two brothers, Alfie Null and Cecil Holmes; and one sister, Jewel Schneider.

Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Sonny Estes of Millington, Tenn., and Linda and Jake Donaldson of Charleston; one daughter-

in-law, Verna Scheffer of Denver; two sisters, Pauline Freeland and Sarah Housewright of Charleston; and nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. A funeral Mass will then be celebrated at 1 p.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be: Charles "Cully" Donaldson, Tabina "Tee" Estes, Shawn Lanier, Jimmie Chandler Jr., Murray Schwieger and Johnny Schneider. The Rev. Scott Sunnenberg of St. Henry Catholic Church will serve as Celebrant.

Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
