CHARLESTON -- Loretta "Laura" Vasquez Gorostiza, 85, died at 11 p.m. Oct. 29, 2006, at the Charleston Manor.

Born Sept. 30, 1921, in Yorktown, Texas, daughter of the late Francisco and Angelita Vila Vasquez, she lived most of her life in Charleston where she attended St. Henry Catholic Church.

On July 22, 1939, she married Atanacio "Tony" Gorostiza who preceded her in death on May 24, 1991.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Johnny Gorostiza; two daughters, Amy Gorostiza and Saladina Gorostiza; and three brothers, two sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Survivors include: two sons, Tony Gorostiza of Charleston and Ricky Gorostiza of Sikeston; five daughters, Rosa Slaughter of Charleston, Wally Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Mary Hesselrode of Henderson, Tenn., and Angela Crespo and Gloria Russell of St. Louis; and 15 grandchildren and 11 great-

grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston. The Rev. Richard Rolwing, senior priest in residence at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
