Speakout 4/17

Tuesday, April 17, 2007

Well, Easter has come and gone again this year, and as usual the churches were packed with people who only attend services this one day out of the year. These people thought enough about the sacrifice that the Lord Jesus Christ made for all of mankind to go into His "house" and worship (or to be blunt, show off a new outfit) for one day out of 365. I just have one request for all of the "once a year" worshipers- go for a record and show up at somebody's (anybody's) church this Sunday too. And forget about all the pomp and circumstance, come as you are, even if that means wearing "regular" clothing. God is not judging you based on your outfit. And when you sit on the pew, be attentive to the message being delivered to you, and understand that no one around you is perfect for we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So please don't let your past or present situation keep you from seeking out the Lord. Open your heart up to the knowledge that you can change your life for the better, and in this day and age, the only way to make it better is to include God and Jesus in it. Keep going back to church until you come to the realization that your salvation is only available through the Lord Jesus Christ, that you must profess your belief in him to gain entrance to Heaven. I must warn you, you will lose some earthly friends over this, but you will gain the most important Friend around. You will be talked about. You will be called names, especially a hypocrite. Don't worry about anyone else's perception of you, only one opinion matters. Please remember that tomorrow is not promised and Hell is a very real place.

It is time for Charleston R-1 Schools to think about how much teaching the teachers are doing. How can they be out of class all of the time and learn? Taking children out of school to work for the Azalea Festival, for the ones not taking MAP tests they wasted four mornings a week watching movies. Why do we pay teachers for that kind of thing? The school is there to help the students, to teach. them instead of playing around.

I don't know what the recipe to kill moles was in the paper. But if you will take a Bounce dryer sheet and poke it down in the hole where they are, they will leave. They don't like the odor. It will get rid of them.
