EAST PRAIRIE - Hazle Ruth Adams Rice, 86, died Jan. 20, 2007, at her home.

Born Oct. 26, 1920, in Ridgley, Tenn., daughter of the late Morgan and Cara Miller Henderson, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County where she was a member and Sunday school teacher at the First Assembly of God Church in East Prairie.

On Oct. 1, 1938, she married Walter Adams who preceded her in death on May 20, 1976. She later married J.T. Rice who preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1990.

Also preceding her in death were one son, Otis Adams; one brother, Bernie Henderson; two sisters, Verna Brewer and Mable Pollock; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include: four daughters, Etta Mae Burney and Lillie Mae Hill of East Prairie, Willie Ruth Poole of Kevil, Ky., and Elton Lee Ramsey of Sikeston; one brother, Herman Lee Henderson of Trimble, Tenn.; and 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at the First Assembly of God Church in East Prairie where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Lynn Drumwright officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery with Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
