MOREHOUSE - Maxine Harper, 77, died March 3, 2007, at the Sikeston Convalescent Home in Sikeston.

Born Jan. 9, 1930, in Wayne City, Ill., to the late Ben and Blanche Stanberry Stroud, she lived most of her life in Morehouse and had worked at the International Shoe Factory and National Lock in Sikeston.

In 1964, at Bloomfield, she married Eugene Harper who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one sister, Betty Patterson of Laguna Hills, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee Stroud, Carl Stroud and Roy Stroud; and four sisters, Elsie Jones, Margaret Simmons, Thelma Manning and Lillian Simmons.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Morehouse where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Frank Breeden of Morehouse will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
