National signing day

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Southeast Missouri State head football coach Tony Samuel announced the signing of 11 players to National Letters of Intent. Two of the signees are junior college transfers that are enrolled for the current semester and will participate in spring drills. The remaining recruits include nine high school seniors that will join the program for the fall semester and preseason camp in August.

"We ended up signing 11 kids in this recruiting class," head coach Tony Samuel said. "Out of those 11, we have two out-of-staters from junior college and eight of nine of the high school players are from Missouri. We covered the state pretty well, there were some really good quality football players in-state this year."

Both junior college transfers are enrolled in classes for the current semester and are on campus working out with the team. Dustin Powell (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield CC), 6-2, 215, is a junior quarterback from Bakersfield College. Josh Woods (Northville, Mich./West Los Angeles CC), 5-11, 200, is a redshirt junior cornerback from West Los Angeles College that spent his first two collegiate seasons playing at Utah.
