SpeakOut 6/7

Wednesday, June 7, 2006

My family was grocery shopping on May 27th at a Sikeston grocery store and the woman working check out did not want to do her job. She was charging people double and she did not want to work. If people don't want to work then let them sit at home and starve and open the jobs up to the ones of us that want to work. Just like my past experiences with a local restaurant. They are very prejudice and they treat children like they don't exist. I ask that the communities come together and put a stop to these companies thinking that they are doing us a favor by being here. We as the customers are doing them favors by taking our business to them.

Mr. Jensen, Please give your opinion on this old issue. Had the Japanese won World War II, would they have allowed us to rebuild as we did them?

We'll never know but my guess should be obvious. Not a chance!

United States of Mexico

I want to speak out about this illegal Mexican thing. Bush has no intention of making it illegal for the Mexicans to come into the United States. He wants to make it legal so they can become residents. The next thing you know instead of calling it the United States of America, we'll be calling it the United States of America and Mexico. It's not right to let all these illegal Mexicans in here and a lot of them are over here for drugs. I don't care what they say and most of them don't even spend their money over here. They take it back to Mexico and spend it over there where things are cheaper. It's not right. This is the United States. We are Americans, not Mexicans. I am not voting for a Republican anymore. All Bush cares about is his rich buddies. If you don't believe me, when you die you'll see where he's at.

This is in response to "Irritated on Ingram." My landlord owns a majority of property on that pond and it is included on my contract that I have access to that pond. If you don't like that, take it up with my landlord. Until then, I will continue to use that pond for whatever I want. You can get over it.

I would like to say thank you to all the veterans, young and old, ones that are still with us and ones that have passed away. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have anything that we have today. God sent them to do their duty and they've done it with no questions asked. I'd like to say thank you to all of them and God bless each and every one of you.

The railroad tracks that are being taken out in Lilbourn are Union Pacific. The soy diesel plant will be using Burlington Northern tracks. Them tracks are still gonna be staying there. They can still build the plant there. It's not going to go under and it's going good right now. Ground will be broken soon. Check your facts before you start making comments.

Dear Mike and Staff, I have not written anything down, but I have read your newspaper today and I believe one of your contributors, Mr. Chuck Shepherd on the Peoples and Places page needs to get his facts straight. I saw the original news article on the TV and in April the gentleman, Sir Yacoub over in London did not reinsert the original heart, he reconnected the heart, which had been left in the child's chest from the beginning to allow it to heal. I know of no organ in the human body that will heal when removed from the human body. I think he needs to recheck his facts and republish.

I know several people who have taken the ENT class out here at the school and they can't seem to find out when the test needs to be taken. Does someone out here at this Career Technology Center know who to contact to find out when they can take the test? It has been over a month the class has been out.
