NORTH LILBOURN -- Arnell Walker McFerren, 87, died Oct. 11, 2006, at her home.

Born Feb. 9, 1919, in Summerville, Tenn., daughter of the late Lucius and Callie Rose Culpepper Walker, she was a retired teacher aide for Head Start in Howardville and member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Lilbourn where she served as a Sunday school teacher, president of the Usher Board, was a member of the Mother's Board and a member of the "Heaven-

Bound" Singers.

She married Sammie Lee McFerren Sr. who preceded her in death in 1987.

Also preceding her in death were three sons and one daughter.

Survivors include: five sons and three daughters-in-law, William McFerren and Earnest McFerren of Lilbourn, Lennies and Willie Mae McFerren of Bertrand, Alvin and Marilyn McFerren of Cape Girardeau and Claude and Janice McFerren of New Madrid; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pauline Robinson of Chicago, Samella and Robert Kelly of Rantoul, Ill., and Joyce and Millard Tate of Calumet Park, Ill.; two brothers, Luther Walker and Lucius Walker of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Mary Lee Neal and Beatrice Hutchison of Memphis; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-

grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Earnest Willis, pastor of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery in New Madrid.

Williams Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
