BRAGGADOCIO -- Two area men were charged last week with burglary and looting.

On Wednesday Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department Chief Mike Tomlinson stopped a vehicle with two white male subjects for driving around the tornado devastated area. After their release, he discovered a shed had been entered by breaking the pad lock, which was the same area in which the vehicle had been observed. The subjects were relocated and arrested.

After questioning Thursday, the subjects revealed there was a third suspect involved. He was located in Hayward, just south of Portageville, where he was transported to the Pemiscot County Justice Center for questioning. The subject was later arrested and charged with burglary in the second degree.

Upon further questioning, it was also discovered that two of these subjects were in possession of the stolen property in a residence in Steele. After receiving this information, and with the assistance of the Steele Police Department, all of the items taken from the burglary were positively identified by the owner and released.

One of the subjects was charged with burglary in the second degree and felony of receiving stolen property. Another subject was charged with felony of receiving stolen property.
