We want ice cream

I would like to say to the ice cream man, I would love for him to come down on the 500 block of Matthews again.

Tighten the buckle

I'm calling on behalf of the people in the SpeakOut on July 9. I would like to thank them and appreciate the help of them on speaking out on the city of Sikeston. I think it's time to buckle down on all these kids shooting firecrackers and running stop signs and other violations.

Pesky moles

Mike, I'm just wanting to get something in SpeakOut. I've been trying to find out and I'm not having any luck. I've got a lot of moles in my yard and around my house. I want somebody to tell me how you go about killing them and what you use to kill them with. They are tearing my yards all to pieces.

Building lease

Can you tell me who has leased the big building on West Wakefield? Wal-Mart had it for storage last year.

We contacted the owner of the building and it is not leased to anyone at the present time.

Don't worry, get tabby

This is in reference to Scat Cat in the paper. You know of all the things going on in life, you have to worry about a cat sunning on your porch. You are a sick individual if that's all you have to care about!

Facts and justice served

This is in regard to the Sunday, July 6, report printed in your paper about the man stabbing outside of Miner. First, the domestic disturbance did not happen outside Bell City, it happened inside Bell City and was witnessed by a Bell City police officer. Second, it did not reconvene on Dale Street. It reconvened on the corner of Haley and Robinwood. It was an unlicensed black Blazer, not a pickup truck, that intentionally hit with said vehicle, two people. Then running through a residential fence, putting the vehicle in forward gear to make a second attempt to hit one of the victims. After that, it did reconvene on Dale Street. The person in the pickup was dragged by five or six people, resulting in the beating and stabbing of the victim. He left the scene to prevent being killed and to get help from a family member, rushing him to the hospital. He never once talked to the police. In fact, once stabilized at the hospital, he was very cooperative with the police to the best of his ability before going in to emergency surgery. According to the surgeon, if he would have waited, he would not be alive. Sincerely, Someone wanting you to have the correct facts and justice served. But I don't believe you'll print this. Print it!

All the information printed was from a news release from the Scott County Sheriff's Department.

Lost off Lincoln

If anyone lost something off an older Lincoln in Sikeston on Plantation Boulevard around July 2, give me a call at 568-2233. I saw the car it fell off of. Call and claim it.

Better with the bird

I'm commenting on your sports writer Josh Mills. He sure looks a lot better on the front of that page with that red bird on his hat. Thank you very much.

Once-a-year celebration

This is about the fireworks complaint, Shoot them a ticket. You call and whine about us celebrating our independence one day of the year. Maybe you should move to a quiet world setting. I would rather people shoot fireworks once a year than hang out at bars or street corners up to no good.
