DEXTER -- Vernon P. Hall, 90, died July 26, 2008, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born April 10, 1918, at Hornersville, to the late Daniel P. and Sidney Brewer Hall, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and the former owner of Hall Buick and Hall Trailer Sales, both in Dexter. A veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II, he belonged to the Dexter Masonic Lodge 532.

On Dec. 17, 1938, at Piggott, Ark., he married Juanita Davenport, who died Aug. 12, 1997.

He was also preceded in death by: four brothers, Willie Hall, Daniel Hall, Cecil Paul Hall and Luther Hall; and one sister, Myrtle Hickman.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Diane Hall of Dexter; and one grandson, Matthew Hall of Dexter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. A Masonic Service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Howard Fuller officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
