In the victory the Lady Hawks poured on 14 hits, plating two runs in the first, one in the third, six in the fourth, one in the fifth and one more in the sixth to pull ahead by the 10-run mercy rule.
Leading the way offensively for Kelly was Londyn Backfisch, Katee Moore, Brittany Brantley, Casey Kern and Kristen Powell.
Backfisch was 4-for-4 with an RBI, Moore was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Brantley was 3-for-4, Kern had a double and two RBIs and Powell added a triple.
"We had singles up and down our lineup," Kelly head coach Rhonda Ratledge said following the victory. "For an opening game the girls did extremely well recording 14 hits."
Heather Beggs was awarded the victory as she threw four innings, giving up just one hit and one walk while striking out six.
Jessica Riley threw two innings of relief giving up one run on two hits. Riley struck-out three in the game.
"On defense, when they put the ball in play we made the plays," said Ratledge. "It went good for our first game."
The Lady Hawks will play Chaffee today at 4 p.m. in Chaffee.
