NRA shot

It's a good thing Sarah Palin is a member of the NRA. There's going to be a shotgun wedding.

Obama dollars

Is it true if Obama get elected president, his picture will be on the food stamp dollars? I was just wondering.

Already done

I'd like to know why Habitat for Humanity couldn't buy nice brick homes that are already built for less than $150,000 rather than have to put the money in a new house?

Sealed decision

I am an open Hillary Clinton supporter, but if John McCain thinks that Gov. Palin is the answer for the Hillary supporters, he's wrong. At least Barack Obama did not call Hillary a whiner, which Governor Palin did. No, Mr. McCain, this will not work. I will not be pandered to. You've helped me make my decision - I'm voting for Barack Obama. Thank you Mr. McCain.

City matters

I was wondering where all the money goes in the town of Morley. Taxes are high, water bills are high. The streets have never been paved. They flush the pipes and don't tell you when they're flushing them. What kind of city do we have and who's working there. They sure don't know how to handle city matters. There's a lot of towns that have taxes and water bills a lot cheaper than ours. Their streets look a lot better and so does the whole town in general.

Safety first

The Missouri Safe School Act was established to protect all students and faculty. It requires that any violation of drug and/or weapon possession be reported to appropriate law enforcement agencies. A young man was found to have alcohol and a weapon in his vehicle on the school parking lot in Portageville. I'm sure he wasn't planning to do anything harmful with it. I just wonder if he hadn't been who he was if he would have only gotten 10 days suspension. As it states in the Safe School Act, this offense should have a year's suspension. I just hope that the Portageville School administration knows that they are being watched to make sure that discipline is being dealt to all students regardless of the amount of money their grandparents or parents have and if they are liked or not.

Mayor has experience

I'd like to nominate Mayor Mike Marshall for president of the United States. He has all the executive experience he needs to run on the Republican ticket.

A waiting room

Mike, I'd like to clarify something from one of your editorials. You think and you believe that most Missourians believe that all abortion should be made illegal even when a woman has been raped or a child has been the victim of incest? Is that right? Mr. Jensen, the Retirement Center called. Your room is ready.

Just send cash - part two

This is in reference to the SpeakOut article in the Aug. 27 newspaper where a person received a wedding invitation that they thought was tacky because the bride and groom listed a website where a guest has the option to give money to the newlyweds instead of a gift which they might need as much as money in this time of economical uncertainty. My question to the person who received the invitation is why is it tacky for a new couple to receive money in order to pay bills or whatever it is they want to do with the money they received as a gift? This is not tacky, but instead honorable, for the new couple to want to pay bills instead of receiving a toaster. Congratulations to the new couple.

Illegal irrigation

I wanted to comment about the irrigation in East Prairie. The person needs to get a hold of the local county sheriff's office or the Highway Patrol. It is illegal for the irrigation to be spraying over the road. It causes a danger, especially at nighttime. It is illegal. They can turn the engines off, which the farmers are a little bit too lazy to do.
