Lady Bulldogs unable to contain Puxico's offense
SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Lady Bulldog volleyball team had another rough go at it on Tuesday against the Puxico Lady Indians. Sikeston fell in two straight sets of 25-10 and 25-12.
"We just need to practice," Sikeston head coach Steve Beydler simply said. "Our transition game is nowhere where it needs to be."

"To me, it was a total team effort," Puxico head coach Karen Hazel said. "To tell you the truth, I really couldn't pick out one person that would've made the whole difference in the ball game."
Puxico went on four different scoring runs where they scored at least five consecutive points during the first set. The Lady Indians also scored eight straight points during the second set as well.
"They were a little too laid back," Puxico head coach Karen Hazel said about her team. "We just came off the SEMO tournament and they played really good. They were tough, fast and on their toes at the SEMO tournament but, they were too laid back here.

Puxico finished the B.A. Sports Volleyball Classic by winning first place in the consolation round.
Freshman Asia Liggens led Sikeston with six kills while Tyanne Townsend added three and Vonteria Applewhite chipped in with two.
Mandy Moore set up eight assists while Keyarra Blissett had eight digs.
The Sikeston junior varsity also fell to the Lady Indians on Tuesday. They lost the first set 25-9 but battled back in the second set only to fall 25-20.
Sikeston's next match will be on Thursday when they travel to Poplar Bluff.
Scott City 2, Dexter 0
SCOTT CITY -- The Dexter Lady Bearcats volleyball team fell victim to the Scott City Lady Rams for the second time in the last week Tuesday night, 25-22, 25-13.
"It was our intentions to give Scott City a better match tonight than what we gave them on Saturday," said Dexter coach Kris Vandeven. "Our girls came out strong and played a first good game. We just couldn't seem to finish the first game off though."
Vandeven said after losing the first game, the Lady Bearcats could never get the momentum back on their side.
"We are going to have to figure out how to maintain our intensity and finish our matches," Vandeven said.
Jessica Satterfield led the Lady Bearcats with seven kills, one ace, one dig and three assists. Cathryn Heil added two kills, two aces, five digs, one block and seven assists while Abbie Warren chipped in five kills, one ace, two digs and three blocks.
The loss drops Dexter to 7-3-1 and 2-0 in conference.
Dexter junior varsity team defeated the Lady Rams in three sets (15-25, 25-21, 25-22) to improve to 5-1 on the season.
