CANALOU - Roy Bernard English, 82, died at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 10, 2008, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born July 18, 1926, in Canalou to the late N.C. and Velda Hart Allen, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and of the Protestant belief. A retired farmer, he had been employed by Lois Newman Farms.

On Aug. 31, 1951, at Piggott, Ark., he was married to Louise Davidson, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Wayne English of Benson, N.C.; two daughters, Fontaine English of Canalou and Remona Coffee of Benton; one brother, George Allen of Rome, Ga.; six sisters, Goldie Ingram and Dorothy Adams of Centre, Ala., and Imogene Allen, Mary Justice, Vestene Ross and Peggy Lovelace of Rome, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Clayton English; one daughter, Velda Harriel; one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time for services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel with Earl Davidson of Lilbourn and Larry Davidson of Morehouse officiating.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Chris Gruenewald, Steve Stucker, Leonard Harriel, Mike Coffee, Joe Coffee and Danny Stucker.

Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Davidson.
