William H. Adcock

SIKESTON -- William H. "Bill" Adcock, 85, died Nov. 29, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 4, 1923, in Portageville, to the late John Anderson and Fannie Elizabeth Harrelson Adcock, he was a member of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church and a production manager for Coca-Cola Bottling in Sikeston for over 20 years and later for Royal Crown Bottling in Illinois.

On Sept. 4, 1944, he married Lola Rettig Adcock who preceded him in death on July 14, 2006.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Brenda Adcock of Jacksonville, Ill., and Gary and Cheri Adcock of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, James Adcock of the state of Ohio and John Adcock Jr. of Iuka, Ill.; one sister, Beatrice Stanfill of Kennett; three grandchildren, Kimberley Andracsek, Jason Adcock and Aaron Adcock; and two great- grandchildren, Wesley Adcock and Brooke Andracsek.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Gary Zook, former pastor of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
