SIKESTON - The Sikeston Bulldog cage squad was eliminated from the championship bracket in the Cape College Invitational Tournament yesterday when they were defeated by the Delta Bobcats, 41-36.

SIKESTON - Discarded Christmas trees will be disposed of Thursday evening by the Sikeston Jaycees, project chairman Lloyd Stoner said today. There will be no charge for the pickup.

SIKESTON - Howard Spicer entertains once a month on the organ for residents of Sikeston Health Care Inc. on Highway 60 West at Brown Spur Road. This month's session featured Christmas music.

SIKESTON - Sikeston wrestlers Jeff Brazzle and Tim Stallings eyeballed each other for an opening during a recent Bulldog practice session. Both wrestlers are 10-0 so far this season and have been instrumental in the success of the team. They both have a chance to finish the season as undefeated state champions, a remarkable feat in itself.

NEW MADRID - Van H. Sharp Jr., the 18th Circuit Clerk for New Madrid County, spoke to those attending a surprise retirement party Tuesday. Sharp has served as circuit clerk since 1951. In the 48 years, he has served under six circuit judges making him the longest serving elected official in the history of New Madrid County. Sharp will retire from office on Dec. 31.
