Deanie Woodard

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Dorothy Dean "Deanie" Woodard, 83, formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died Dec. 24, 2008, at the Arlington Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 13, 1925, in East Prairie, to the late Steve Wallace and Goldia Lucille Yount Durbin, she lived most of her life in East Prairie where she was a member of the Nelson Memorial Methodist Church. In 1978, she moved to Arlington where she was a personnel consultant for Personnel Plus.

On Dec. 5, 1948, she married Guy William "Buster" Woodard, who preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2003.

One brother, Samuel Durbin, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: one son, Samuel Durbin Woodard of Arlington; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Steve Fugate of Arlington; one sister, Sarah Sanders of Atlanta; and one grandson.

Visitation is at 9 a.m. Monday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston. The Rev. Martin Lucas will officiate.
