Wanda Adkins

BERNIE -- Wanda Adkins,79, died Dec. 24, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 21, 1929, at Flint, to the late Ephriam and Opal Thelma Trent Robinett, she was a homemaker and a member of the White Oak Grove General Baptist Church where she has served as treasurer for over 30 years.

On Jan. 10, 1948, at Piggott, Ark., she married Kenneth Rudolph Adkins, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 1999.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bud Robinett and Kenneth Robinett; and two sisters, Dorothy Bratcher and Wilma Lock.

Survivors include: three sons, Ronald Gene Adkins of Seattle, Randal Dean Adkins of Miami Shores, Fla., and Kenneth Bruce Adkins of Dexter; one daughter, Sherry Lynn Gregory of Bernie;and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. M. C. Moore officiating.

Burial will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in rural Dexter.
