NMCC holds off Tigers for victory

NEW MADRID -- Mother Nature must have been a New Madrid County Central Eagles fan on Tuesday afternoon as both lightning and rain hit just at the perfect time.

With runners at the corners for the Caruthersville Tigers in the top of the sixth inning and only one out the Tigers needed only one run to tie the game at seven runs apiece. But, just as soon as Seth Littrell was given first base on a walk, two lightning bolts sprinted across the sky which sent all players to the dugout. Minutes later the rain started settling in which ended up being the reason the game was called.
