NEW MADRID - While some races drew lots of interest in New Madrid County, overall turnout in Tuesday's election was low.

According to unofficial returns from the office of New Madrid County Clerk Clement Cravens only 2,260 voters cast ballots Tuesday. There are nearly 13,000 voters registered in the county.

Overall, the clerk noted there were no really problems with the election. "It was a fairly quiet day," Cravens added.
