Road woes near Perkins addressed

BENTON -- An area of roadway in Scott County that is prone to mudslides and often washes away with precipitation may be improved, thanks to federal funds.

During Thursday's meeting, commissioners spoke with County Developer and Emergency Management Director Joel Evans, as well as Norman Brant, superintendent of the highway department, about applying for hazard mitigation funds. The project would deal with Belk Hill, located on County Road 219 near Perkins.
