NEW MADRID -- "This is a ball club that's not afraid to fight."

Those are the words of Cape Central head coach Rich Payne describing his club after Friday night's tough 38-35 loss to the New Madrid County Central. In reality, both clubs came out of the locker room on Friday evening prepped and ready for a fight and that's exactly what both teams did for 48 minutes in New Madrid.

From the opening kick it was apparent that both clubs were hungry for the victory. The Tigers drew first blood as they scored in the opening minute on a 79-yard run from James Poindexter. Matt Ponder added the extra point and the score was quickly 7-0 in favor of the visiting Cape Central.
