Recent high temperatures have turned some youngsters into entrepreneurs. Riley Polk, 6, and Lindley Carroll, 5, set up a stand outside Lindley's home in New Madrid to sell a cool glass of lemonade to passers-by. Riley said business was good as they stuffed their proceeds in a bubblegum container which doubled as their cashbox. With temperatures to continue in the 90s, area youngsters should have plenty of opportunities to hone their lemonade salesmanship skills.
