Return to Sunset: Vendors reminded to get city license

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

SIKESTON -- Sikeston's annual Return to Sunset is set for 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the neighborhood just north of Roberta Rowe Park.

The annual Labor Day weekend event is held in the Sunset community so current and previous residents can reunite and connect with old friends. This year a Sunset Reunion will also be held from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. each night in conjunction with the Return to Sunset celebration.

"This affair has outdoor entertainment for young and old. This is a great time for fellowship with music, games for children, assorted contests, guest speakers and vendors on site selling various goods," said Sgt. Jim McMillen, public information officer for Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

Any individual, church or civic organization is invited to attend and can set up a booth or table for vending. However, all vendors must have a city vendor's license and the approval of the two organizing groups to participate in the event, McMillen noted.
