Robbery suspect sought

SIKESTON -- The Sikeston Department of Public Safety is on the lookout for a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred Thursday night in Sikeston.

At 8:03 p.m., DPS was alerted to an armed robbery at Gas and Goodies, 1207 W. Malone. A black male in a gray jacket walked into the store, pointed a firearm at the cashier and demanded cash, said Sgt. Jim McMillen, public information officer. The employees handed over an undetermined amount of money and the suspect left the building, walking east.

No one was injured in the incident.

McMillen described the suspect as being about 6 feet tall with a medium build.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call DPS at 471-6200 or call the CrimeStoppers line at 471-1500. Information that leads to a conviction is eligible for a cash reward, and all tips can remain anonymous.
