Races finalized for April 5 school board elections

SIKESTON -- School board races for the April 5 election are set as filing for candidacy ended Tuesday.

The following individuals are seeking election to their local boards of education. Each district has three three-year terms to fill.

In the Sikeston R-6 School District, voters will choose three of the four candidates: incumbent Amy Blanton, incumbent Ken Stone, Deke Lape and Mike Marsh. Rick Adams, the third incumbent, opted to not seek re-election.

The Scott County R-4, or Kelly, School District has five candidates who've filed: incumbent Tammy Wadlington, Dwight White, incumbent Greg Birk, Charlana Dunn and Amy Tackett. The third incumbent, Becky Wade, did not file for re-election.

Scott County Central School District's incumbent W. Ray Shoaf, incumbent Michael Blissett, Lynn Hubbert, Linda Williams and Tony Lackey have filed for candidacy. Mark Freed, the third incumbent, chose to not file.

In the New Madrid County R-1 School District, the three incumbents, Scott Riley, Don Brittain and Kay Rebstock, will be joined by Dwayne Stanley, Joey Causey, Tim Dambach and Phillip L. "Moon" Carter on the ballot.
