COOTER -- The Class 1, Sectional 1 game between the Oran Eagles and the Cooter Wildcats was postponed due to lightening and thunderstorms on Monday.

Wildcats' starter Zach Watkins was in the batter's box in the top of the third when the first lightening strike of the afternoon sent each team inside their respective dugouts. While suspending play for the mandatory 30 minutes following a strike, pouring rain came soon after forcing officials to call the game.

They game was scoreless through 2 1/3 innings. While Watkins took the hill for Cooter, Oran's Zach Chasteen was given the start for the Eagles.

Plans as of press time were to resume play today at 2:30 p.m. If field conditions are fit to play at Cooter, the game will resume at it's original location. If not, plans to move the contest to Oran, or another venue, may be in order.
