DPS nabs three on drug charges
SIKESTON -- Three people were arrested on methamphetamine and marijuana charges by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety on Tuesday.
Stephen Beedle, 26, and Kimberly Beedle, 22, of Sikeston, were both charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia. The couple received a $50,000 cash or surety bond through the Scott County Court.
Jerry Rosson Jr., 21, of Charleston, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received a $25,000 cash only bond through the Scott County Court. He was also arrested on a Scott County warrant for fraud and a Mississippi County warrant for burglary.
The three were arrested after a child abuse hot line call on Tuesday morning. As officers with Sikeston DPS and the Missouri Children's Division arrived at 129 N. Sixth St. in Sikeston to investigate, they met up with the Beedles. A search of the home was conducted and officers located Rosson hiding in a bedroom.
In addition to finding Rosson, officers also located a felony amount of marijuana, a few grams of methamphetamine and several items of drug paraphernalia.
The Beedle's two daughters, ages four and two months, were home when the contraband was located. Police then arrested the three adults and later charged them through the Scott County Prosecutor's office.
All three arrested were transferred to the Scott County Jail and are awaiting their arraignment while the two children have been relocated to a safer environment.
