Miner votes down sales tax

MINER -- Voters in Miner decided during Tuesday's general election not to give a funding boost to its fire department.

In a 52-34 vote, Miner residents decided against enacting a one-fourth of one percent sales tax for the operation of the municipal fire department.

These results, which are unofficial, were provided by Scott County Clerk Rita Milam.
