CHAFFEE -- William Earl Griffith Sr., 77, formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Dec. 25, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia.

Born Nov. 18, 1934, to the late J.R. and Zula Mae Whitis Griffith, he worked as a tech at Mac Corporation in Grapevine, Texas. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chaffee.

On Oct. 15, 1960, he married Karen Moore who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, William E. Griffith Jr. of Andale, Kan.; two daughters, Catherine Pesale of Huntington, Conn., and Cynthia Griffith Gronlund of Roanoke, Texas; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Visitation is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee with the Rev. J. Michael Davis officiating.

Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
