EAST PRAIRIE -- Ellen S. Williams, 64, died at 12:55 a.m. Feb. 23, 2012, in the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 7, 1947, to the late Charles Garland and Susie Mae Haines Talley, she lived most of her life in Mississippi County where she attended the First General Baptist Church. She owned and operated the Vikings Club of East Prairie for 10 years.

In 1993, at Wickliffe, Ky., she married Larry David Williams who preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2007.

Also preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were one son, John Z. Kirby Jr., one brother, Owen D. Kearby, one sister, Katherine V. Edwards, her stepfather, Owen M. "Ode" Kearby, and her stepmother, Stella Talley.

She is survived by: seven sons and five daughters-in-law, Charles and Susie Kirby and Louis and Tammy Kirby of East Prairie, Larry Williams and Jeffery and Tammy Williams of Paducah, Ky., Jesse Williams of Charleston and Jimmy and Diane and Johnny and Anna Frye of Wickliffe, Ky.; one daughter, Mary Kirby of East Prairie; three brothers, Charles "Big Red" Talley Jr. of Sikeston, Johnny Talley of Edgerton, Wisc., and David Leon Talley of Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, Louise Adams of Diehlstadt, Doris Wade of Somanauk, Ill., Linda Chilton of Checotah, Okla., and Cindy Davidson of East Prairie; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled after 6 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday with Buddy Hannah officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Kearby, Charlie Brown, Johnaton Kirby, Wilson Adams, Michael Burns, Robert Brown, Lee J. Shands and Greg Nunn.
