DEXTER -- Charles Leamon Cantrell, 56, died Feb. 24, 2012, at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 14, 1956, in Conran, to the late Howard Leamon Cantrell and Nora Gribble Cantrell Powell, he was a veteran of the United States Marines.

On Aug. 6, 1990, at Dexter, he married Cheryl Lynn Mays, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four sons, Parker Kilby of Jacksonville, Ark., and Kyle Logan Cantrell, Robert Coty Cantrell and Phillip Lee Cantrell all of Dexter; one daughter, Rose Kilby of Jacksonville; two stepsons, Kevin Scott Mann of Jonesboro, Ark., and William Dewey Mann of Yellville, Ark.; one daughter-in-law, Candice Cantrell of Dexter; one brother, Willie Powell of Puxico; seven sisters, Mary Jo Stearns of Hartford, Mich., Norma Lee Smith of Poplar Bluff, Treva Ann Lee of St. Charles, Jonnie Mae Maddox of Puxico, Patricia Freed of Dudley and Barbara Sue Case and Angela Mays both of Dexter; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Lottie Phillips.

Visitation is from noon until time of services at 2 p.m. Monday at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Jonia Ray Smith Jr. officiating.

Burial with full military honors will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
