CHARLESTON -- Peggy Ann Alcorn Oliver, 71, died March 22, 2012, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born Oct. 27, 1940, in rural Sikeston, to the late Delmar H. and Helen Marie Wyman Alcorn Sr., she was a graduate of Charleston High School. She studied at William Woods College at Fulton and then later at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. In 1980, she moved to Marion, Ark., where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She returned to Charleston in 1998.

On Sept. 23, 1978, she married Samuel Rush Oliver Sr., who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jason and Cindy Oliver of Marion and Samuel Rush Oliver Jr. of Charleston; two daughters and one son-in-law, Helen Oliver and Jeff Renaud of Charleston and Martha Oliver of Charleston; two brothers, Danny Alcorn of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Delmar H. "Sonny" Alcorn Jr. of Sikeston; two sisters, Pam Wilson of Washington, Mo., and Judy Hathhorn of Sikeston; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Her brother, Danny Alcorn, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers will be: John W.L. Goodin, Sonny Alcorn, John Robert Wilson, Joe Oliver, Homer Oliver and David Oliver.
