Chris Garner

SIKESTON -- Chris Austin Garner, 50, died July 11, 2012, at his home.

Born Feb. 5, 1962, in Sikeston, he had worked as an assistant carpenter and as a cab driver.

He is survived by: one daughter, Alyssa Garner of the home; and three sisters, Dee Hairston-Jones and Shelia Wheetley of Claremore, Okla., and Judy Anderson of Whitehouse, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Garner, and his parents, W.A. "Russ" and Beulah Garner.

Visitation is scheduled from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the Shady Acres Church of Christ Fellowship Hall.

The Blanchard Funeral Chapel of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
